26 Power-Filled affirmations
26 Affirmations for Total Well-Being!

By, Nadirah Aqueelah Shakir
I felt the emotional state of the collective deeply during covid. At times I even fell victim to states of fear and sadness. By both God’s grace and power, I was able to ground down and connect to my core spiritual beliefs and practices which included prayer, meditation, spiritual study, yoga, mindful eating, and the creation and use of affirmations and denials. My mental state was like night and day. I went from worrying and tuning into the news to being faithful and creating uplifting and faith filled messages on social media. Instead of feeling isolated and alone during “lockdown,” I began to feel grateful for solitude, deep study and reflection. The birth of my third book, The Manifest Star, What I Say Grows is the manifestation of the affirmative consciousness that I exercised in order to help myself feel better.
Today now more than ever we have to exercise an affirmative mental attitude. We have to know that we are the power and the only power on the planet and in the Universe. We have to own our power, and cultivate a mentality which reflects our divinity. We cannot allow fear to rob us or distract us from our innate God-Given Power. We have to stay focused on all of the Good that is alive and still well in this Life, and we have to create more of that good however we can.
As humans we have more power than we are aware of; and more power than we will probably ever tap into and use in this incarnation. Rather than get inundated with all of the ways that we can use our power I want you to focus on one of the easiest, yet most powerful ways to use your power so that you can feel well and create an atmosphere of well-being. This easy yet powerful way is affirming. You can use affirmations to change your mood, and the atmosphere in which you are in; but more importantly the constant repetition of affirmations creates a vibrational frequency in which you can abide in no matter what’s going on outside of you.
Below I have listed twenty-six affirmations from my book, The Manifest Star, What I Say Grows that will help you create a frequency of total well-being, mind, body, and spirit. My hope and prayer is that you feel well, and you go out into the world and be the vibrational frequency of total well-being so that our world can heal. And so it is. Namaste & Ashe.

It’s Christmas, don’t forget The Christ
by, Nadirah Aqueelah Shakir
Make your holiday, holy.
People are breaking the bank for gifts for loved ones and friends. It’s a nice sentiment. The night air on Christmas eve was filled with beats and lyrics of all kind. I didn’t hear gospel though. People are celebrating what’s known today as Christmas, which is symbolic of the birth of Christ. Some say it’s Jesus’s birthday. However, if you study enough, you may discover that Jesus wasn’t born in December. That’s neither here nor there. What is here, even though the physical body of Jesus is not, is the Christ.
The Christ was here before Jesus awakened to it, and it will be here until the end of what we know as time. So, what is the Christ? The Christ is the perfect idea of man in the Mind of God. The Christ is the divine pattern, unblemished and untarnished which God originally intended for man before there was what we refer to as sin of any kind. The Christ is the Mind which beholds no sin. The Christ is the perfection and purity of the highest thought.
So, on these holidays, which I wholeheartedly view as an opportunity for spiritual reflection and treat as holy days (first and foremost), it is so important to align oneself and one’s thoughts with the spiritual meaning, and the symbolic or metaphysical meaning of the day that we celebrate.
On Christmas there is often the exchange of gifts. People set up trees and decorate them with ornaments. Some people put lights on their house, and they set out cookies for Santa to eat as he comes down the chimney. But what if you don’t have a chimney? What if you are glucose intolerant or challenged with a sugar addiction? What if financially in this season you cannot afford to buy gifts, or trees, or add another hundred or two to the light bill to put up lights? What do you do then?
You celebrate your Christ by acknowledging the spiritual gifts that The Father of Lights have encoded within you from birth. Set the intention to become aware of your spiritual gifts. Spiritual giftedness goes beyond anything material that we can buy. Sharing our spiritual gifts often fulfil us in ways that no amount of cookies and milk can. Each time we connect within and acknowledge our spiritual gifts, we water the roots of our spiritual tree and grow robust and heavenly.
Every thought that we have in recognition to our spiritual gifts waters our spiritual tree. When we share our spiritual gifts, we light up our lives; but we also light up the consciousness of another human being, thereby lighting up the planet—the whole house of God. This makes The Father of lights happy. I believe Jesus smiles at this as well, as he proclaimed that we would not only do the works that he did, but greater.
So…if we are celebrating Christmas or the birth of the Christ let us remember The Christ, and the perfect ideas in which it contains. Some of my favorite spiritual gifts are Faith, Strength, Judgment, Love, Power, Imagination, Understanding, Will, Order, Zeal, Elimination, and Life. I invite you this Christmas to meditate on The Christ and these divine ideas and lean into what they mean for you. I also invite you to look at your loved ones, friends, and family, and see the prefect idea in the Mind of God in which you feel they represent. Share it with them before you give them their material gift or after, as I realize that some of us may have already opened our gifts this early morning. Celebrate, laugh, be merry, do all the things, but don’t forget The Christ. Become one with that idea. We all encoded with the Christ pattern. How are we using our spiritual gifts? Where is our consciousness? Merry Christmas, and because I am who I AM, Happy Hanukkah. Happy Kwanza, and the Happiest gifted New Year.
Grateful For the Human Experience
by, Nadirah Aqueelah Shakir
My schedule was jammed packed last night, to God be the glory. So, when I got off of work, I was tired and hungry. I fast during the day because I like to eat at home, sitting down, and mindfully. I had to stop to the grocery store to pick up a few more items for Thanksgiving dinner. When I finally found a parking spot, I reached into my wallet to grab my debit card and headed into the crowded market.
Once I got the herbs, gluten free noodles, water, purple onions, celery, and ice cream I headed to the checkout line. I thought about going to self-checkout lane, but opted to support a human behind the counter doing what a robot could have easily done and a bit more quickly. The guy at my checkout lane was slow and got the feeling that it was deliberate; but rather than get upset about him taking his slow time I decided to take a deep breath and bring presence to the situation.
Because he was going so slow, I decided to take my cell phone out of my pocket and see what was going on Facebook; but then I realized what I was doing. I was avoiding being present. So, I put the phone back into my pocket and took another deep breath. I had been avoiding turning around to see who was behind me because I felt a presence watching me, and it made me somewhat self-conscious. I surrendered to the discomfort and made eye contact with the individual behind me–a stout black man, with happy eyes adorned with very nice glasses with a gold frame. We raised our eyebrows at each other as we both directed our attention at the slow man behind the cash register.
Then the man behind me commented on my grocery selection. “That’s an interesting diet, vegetables, herbs, ice cream, and water.” He wanted to know where the turkey was. I told him it was in the crock pot at home. We both laughed. He said I didn’t look like someone who ate ice cream. I smiled, as I thought about my love affair with ice cream. By this time the guy behind the registered was saying hello to me and ringing up my grocery. When he was done. I pulled what I thought was my debit card from my pocket to pay. Accept it wasn’t my debit card. It was my minister’s license card. Embarrassed, I told the guy behind the counter I’d be back. I was headed to my car to get my debit card. Before I could take another step the black man with the happy eyes behind me told the guy behind the register to add my groceries to his tab. I asked him if he was sure. He said, absolutely, told me to have blessed night and a happy Thanksgiving. As I bagged my groceries, he told me to enjoy my ice cream. I assured him that I would.
I walked out of the grocery store feeling grateful that I chose the human experience. Uncomfortable as they can sometimes be, there’s a beauty when you can look into the eyes of another human being and actually feel seen.
The Mystical Way to Seek Counsel
by, Nadirah Aqueelah Shakir
Proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel, plans fail. With many advisors, they succeed.”
Proverbs 11:14 “Where there is no counsel, the people fail; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” NKJV
Spirit of the LIVING GOD, thank You for this word. May it heal and work in my life and heal and work in the lives of the receivers. I know that our plans are linked to a bigger dream in which the details belong to You. I pray that You purify the character of those that we call counselors, teachers, mentors, and guides. I pray that You Bless my plans to Succeed here on earth and into heaven and beyond. Help me focus and stay focused using Wisdom. Thank You. Amen.
The book of Proverbs suggests several times that we seek counsel for our plans if we want success. I cringed every time I read it for two reasons. The first reason is because counselors are human too. Some of them have egos and selfish agendas which prey people weak in spirit. The second reason is because wisdom also instructs us not to talk too much. Silence is golden, they say. I like talking and writing, so maybe I’m silver or platinum, or an incredibly unique mineral they have yet to discover! (-;
Anyway, I took my cringe reaction into prayer and meditation, and two things happened. The first thing was I remembered a conversation I had with a sister friend. She told me she had a circle of counselors! I wanted to know where they were so I could speak with them. Sis had it going on in an area of her life that I was trying to get popping in mine! They aren’t here, she told me. I wanted to know where they were. They were in the invisible realm. O.K.A.Y.?–back to what we were talking about before that then! We both laughed; and as I requested, went on conversing. However, what she told me about her circle of counselors in the invisible realm always stayed with me.
Recently, Spirit gave me insight into her words, which gave me insight into how I can establish my plans in the multitude of many counselors, without going around bothering folk (or tempting them) with everything on my mind. Here’s how it came to me. One evening, after reading, I simply closed a book that has been a reference in my life for many years. The book is a reference because every time I read it; I learn something new. It helps me remedy whatever I apply it to; and whenever I open it, I feel comforted and lifted. This book is a counselor! On this day I looked at the title again, but the names of the authors caught my attention. I had two counselors for my circle right there! Then the Spirit moved through me, and I looked up at my bookshelf. One by one they began to call out to me, and pulled them down. The titles spoke to me; but the authors names vibrated within me. I thanked and blessed the authors and then I began writing their names down. Some of the authors were still here. Most of them were in the invisible realm. These are my teachers and they are also my counselors. For weeks now I’ve been sitting with them in consciousness at my table, and Heaven knows they are busy helping me work and even revise my plans! The Sprit as God is always at the head of my table, and now I gladly pull out the chairs of mind for my counselors and guides.
I want to offer you this counsel, just in case you don’t feel safe reveling your heart and plans to (wo)man. Go to God in prayer with sincerity. Tell God about EVERYTHANG! And don’t leave anything out trying to be nice and proper! Tell God about your rough draft of a plan. (cause until God finishes with it no matter how perfect you think it is, it’s just a rough draft) Ask God to reveal and/or send your counselors, teachers, and guides, to you. Maybe they are here in this world, perhaps they are in another dimension, or maybe they are in your most revered books—if you care to look—with your HEART. Start your circle of conscious counselors, your master mind, or even your dream team. The first step is prayer. The revelations and counselors will come once called upon. Thank you God for wise counsel in my life, and thank You for plans that make me successful. Amen. And so It Is.
Chicken & Waffles versus Your VISION!
Habakkuk 2:2 The King James Version
And the LORD answered me and said, “Write down the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that she (he) may run that reads it.
Proverbs 29:18-19 The King James Version
Where there is no vision, the people perish: But she (he) that keepeth the law, happy is she (he).
I was in deep study for most of the morning yesterday. The quiet of the morning was a welcome invitation after the holiday bustle. I don’t usually get caught up; but when you set the intention for deeper connection and blessed relationships you have to be open to moving in and with the crowd. I pray for introvert this year. Spiritual study, and solitude felt so good that I lost track of time. My growling stomach alerted me to the time-2 pm!
I shuffled my books off of my lap and onto my bed. Almond butter and banana called me to the kitchen–just enough to satisfy my hunger and all the energy I needed for my workout that was soon to come. However, when I got to the kitchen the loaf of bread caught my attention first, and when I opened the refrigerator for my banana, the uncovered fried fish was on the top shelf.
Luckily, my comrade (my sister Lia) saw what I was about to do. Didn’t you say you were getting back on track today? Convicted and grateful I put the fried fish back where I got it; but negotiated with my inner child who wanted an almond butter and honey sandwich with a side of sliced banana.
There’s level to fit, and I hold myself to the standard of the elite. With a deep sigh I put the bread in the toaster despite the gluten I knew it contained. The almond butter, honey, and banana were all organic so my soul was good on that. The meal hit the spot and gave me everything required for a glorious glute and hamstring workout.
After my workout I was hungry again, and this time there was no comrade, just a growling stomach and a craving for fried chicken and waffles out of nowhere! It’s true that women’s menstrual cycle will influence their cravings sometimes; but still! chicken and waffles!? I hadn’t had a meal like that in years! Again, I negotiated with myself. There was Whole Food Market nearby. I was sure I could find some organic, gluten free waffles, and some ethically grown and raised chicken already fried; and I did. I settled on the fried chicken strips—4 pieces, and a box of 6 organic, gluten free blue berry waffles made with grains such buck wheat and like. Now, the debate was the syrup. A chicken and waffle experience is not a chicken and waffle experience without the syrup. I love organic dark maple syrup; but I did not want to buy an entire bottle, because it would still be in the house and then I would have to deal with it staring at me for the remainder of the week, then that would lead to me turning the bread into French toast!
Remembering that I could make syrup from scratch, I escaped the food market without the bottle of syrup. The raw brown sugar and organic butter heated over the stove would have to do. Sugar is, as sugar does.
Because I had already offed a container of coconut water, and a chicken strip and a half in the car, I wasn’t really hungry when I got home. I decided to indulge myself anyway. In my experience food cravings dissipate once they are thoroughly indulged in and paid attention to.
I have a tendency to YouTube and eat, or read and eat; but last night I decided to eat in silence, and really look at my meal, taste my meal, and enjoy the texture, and be grateful for what it means to be able to have a craving and then go out and get it in the first place!
After my meal was done, I cleaned the kitchen and promised myself that I would do better tomorrow. But what does doing better tomorrow mean? Today wasn’t bad at all. I had 2 meals. They weren’t unhealthy. My issue was that I have a vision for my body this year, and I have fitness goals which aren’t supported by butter, sugar, fried foods, and gluten. It’s just that simple.
After eating I realized how important it is for me to stay focused on my goals this year, and I accepted the truth that when you have goals obstacles as test appear. But what helps is a clear vision. Did I do my vision work prior to the year coming in? Yes. Did I do my prayer work before the year came in? Yes. Did I write down my goals and began execution prior to the year coming in? I did. But what I didn’t do was what this little voice in my head was whispering for me to do. Write the vision and make it plan, something I’ve heard many times before; but for an analytic-perfectionist like me, the word plan goes into one ear and goes out of the other. The word plan had to come front and center.
So, I visioned again, and wrote it down as plainly as I could. Then God revealed to me just why it has to be plain. It has to be plain so that Spirit can have fun with the details of The Heavenly Creator’s Master Plan. What always happens when we plan things down to the wire? Life happens. Dates have to be pushed back, which means the time has to be changed. The people who we wanted there, suddenly can’t show up; but there’s always another willing soul. The venue isn’t available, and it is still all good. It still gets done; but the details will get shuffled because we live in a Spiritual world that loves mystery.
Hear this. Writing our vision out,( and I suggest reading it 3 times, once silently, once in a whisper, and then another with conviction aloud) will put the Universe and all of your spiritual help on notice to get busy. (Everything starts with the word, and activity takes place when things are spoken.) Because there is so much spiritual help available to us and working for us, we can understand why the details in and of themselves will inevitably change. Writing it plan directs energy.
Oh yeah! While shopping, I purchased food so that I could meal prep for the rest of the week. And this morning I am happy to say that meal prep is done, and when I get hungry, I have the food prepared in which I will eat to continue to create my 2024 physique.
Thank You God for your revelation and all of the Spiritual help that is available to me. Amen, Blessed be, And It Shall Be So.
Treasure Time
Time is our God given treasure. It’s the gift that every single human being has that doesn’t discriminate. Time doesn’t care about your race, your financial bracket, your sexuality, your height, your weight…none of that. Time is faceless and unbiased. It only seems like it favors those of us who cherish IT.
24 Hours in a day, we all get that. 7 days a week, we all get that. 365 days in a year, each and everyone of us get’s that also. Out of the 24 Hour in a day how many hours are we really being productive? Out of the 7 days in the week, how many days are really putting forth the effort to change our lives? Out of the 12 months in the year, how many months are we planning for and reaching our goals?
How much time are we setting a side to listen to God, and then follow through?
I’ve heard people say, life is a number’s game, and the younger I get…(-; , I think what that really means is life is all about what we do with our time.
Use your time wisely.
Peace & Blessings
More Than An Erection
I got a call from a man wanting me to coach him because he couldn’t get an erection. When I got the call I thought the dude was full of it. He wasn’t. As it turns out he got my number from a trusted reference—a female client that I worked with for almost 2 years. Without saying too much I’ll just say that she and I worked through trauma of the womb. Her doctors told her that she wouldn’t be able to have a child. After 2 years of training and coaching she got pregnant and gave birth to a healthy baby girl. So when he mentioned her name (I coach females only) I decided to meet with him to see if I could help at all.
The guy wasn’t shy about his condition. He went right into telling me all about it. He had even been to medical doctors, and a couple a psycho/cognitive therapist. He’s had acupressure. He used Viagra, and other medications as well as herbs that were known to stimulate sexual arousal. Some of them worked, but not for long—not long enough to please his girlfriend. He admitted to watching pornography to get aroused. It worked, but again not long enough. So, one of the first things that I asked him was if he was gay. He said he wasn’t. So my next question was does he love his girlfriend. He does. Does he find his girlfriend attractive? Yes. So what’s the problem? He didn’t know, and neither did I. He began talking, and I listened. He kept using the word perform. When It’s time to perform this…when it’s time to perform, that…when I’m performing, this happens….I feel like this while I’m performing. Who the fuck performs when they love someone I wanted to know. You melt into each other. Seriously, are you a pornography star? Do you want to be? Or are you a man that is trying to connect with the woman you love in the most intimate way humanly possible?
Throughout our conversation I began checking him every time he used the word perform. I guess he got it. So to delve a bit deeper I asked him about his alcohol consumption, which was pretty high. Why people have to “take-it-to-the-head” before sex is something I still don’t understand. Especially when high levels of alcohol in the body slow down blood flow—the one thing you need to sustain an erection. http://alcoholrehab.com/alcoholism/alcoholism-and-sexual-dysfunction/ Don’t you want to be engaged and conscious of the person you’re connecting with? Yes? No? Maybe not. By his testimony almost every song that comes on his favorite radio station is about becoming intoxicated enough to beat up the female genitalia—perform I guess. That was the first problem.
As the conversation got deeper I discovered that the first time he had sex, it wasn’t even his choice. His relatives…women at that, thought it was time that he became a man. So they solicited a female neighbor who was almost a decade older than the young man, already had 3 or 4 children, and whom he did not love and was not attracted to. As his story goes, his female relatives locked him in the room with the older female so that she could make a man out of him. Like WTF!? Really?? When I asked him if he liked the experience he flat out said no. This was his first sexual experience.
Deeper into the conversation I learned that his religious beliefs about sex were contradictory to his behavior. I mean, the God we believe in will set the tone for our entire lives. As the conversation went on about God and religion he admitted that he was in fact agnostic, but he was doing his best to stay close to the teachings of his child hood. So I asked him why he didn’t he just marry the woman if he loves her, if he finds her attractive, if he believes that he should be married before having sex. His response was he doesn’t think he’s good enough. Him not being good enough is defined by him not having a prestigious job, although he is gainfully employed, and him not having x amount of dollars in the bank. Okay so now I wanted to know what his girlfriend thought. His girlfriend wants to be his wife, despite the odds.
I knew there was little that I can do or say regarding his “condition.” I offered advice anyway, knowing full well that an erection is mental and emotional. I told him that. He understood, especially since we were able to make some connections from past to present.
It seems like so many people are having issues with sexual arousal and sex in general at a very early age. My thoughts are, sex is sacred, and we’ve gotten away from that. Sex is spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical; but somehow or another we’re only paying attention to the mental and physical aspect of sex. Mentally we’re in the head, thinking about performing, and how we look. Physically, we’re just trying to “catch a feel.” I get it. An orgasim is one of the best feelings in the world; but if you don’t feel good about yourself, and if you don’t know yourself what kind of sex do you expect to have?
The last thing I suggested for him to do was to think about ways that he could stand up in himself—get clear about his beliefs, his life, and it’s direction. Call it pseudoscience, but all of these things correlate with sustaining an erection. No matter what society says, an erection comes from within.
Tips for a Healthy Erection
1. Drink lots of water
2. Limit your alcohol and sugar consumption.
3. Try to avoid over working yourself, and stressful situations.
4. Get regular exercise. Both cardiovascular training and weight training help with blood flow.
5. Practice deep breathing, meditation, yoga, and or pilates.
6. Avoid sexual intercourse with multiple partners. Your brain gets scattered and use up Jing–vital sexual energy which is found in the kidney. https://youtu.be/dRpWisPDgWQ
7. Avoid pornography and other sexual solicitation that promotes that idea of “physical perfection. Focus on your partners body.
8. Love and trust are paramount, not only in a relationship, but in a sexual relationship as well. It’s easier to completely relax and “let go” when you trust the person you are being intimate with.
9. Performing is for actors. You’re in a real relationship, with a real person.
